A swim spa is great for swimming or splashing around, but did you know it is the ultimate exercise machine? Here are 4 swim spa exercises to train and condition in a swim spa.
1. Underwater Cycling
When adding optional features like the Stainless-Steel Exercise Bike to your Master Spas Swim Spa, you’ll begin to experience the ultimate aerobic and fitness workout. Mix it up a little by swimming and running against the current before finishing up on the bike.
The buoyancy or water’s weightlessness allows you to work out as hard as you’d like while minimizing the soreness typically felt after such vigorous training on land.
2. Dumbbell Water-Extensions
To complete this exercise, you’ll need dumbbell water weights in the deep end of the pool with jets running for resistance. Walking towards the shallow end of the swim spa, start lifting each dumbbell up until they meet at eye level. Next, extend one weight with one arm. Start lowering that arm, extend the weight in your other arm. Do 10 reps with both arms as walking against the current.
3. Kickbacks
Stand straight up facing the wall of the swim spa and grab onto the exercise bar. Raise your right leg, squeezing your glute as you lift it to the surface. Once you reach the top of the motion, hold for about 10 seconds. Next, bring your right leg down, then repeat this motion with your left leg. Above is one rep, try to aim for 2-3 sets of 10-15 reps.
4. Water Plank
Planks are a great core strengthener. Hold a pool noodle vertically in both hands. Pressing down into the water toward the floor, lean forward until your body is on an incline with your head above the water line. Hold this position as long as you can. Try to hold for 1-2 minutes.
You can install an H2X Swim Spa indoors or outdoors. Once it’s up and running, you can exercise in the privacy of your own home whenever you want.
